Learn to Paint and Draw (Better): Visual Journals/Review
Join Earthchild Sarah every week as she teaches the basics of painting and drawing.
In December, we will create visual journals from vintage books. Journaling has been shown to improve mental and emotional wellbeing. It can also be a great tool for developing creativity and refining ideas. Students will have the option to share their work or keep it private. All materials will be provided but students are welcome to bring their own book if they prefer. This is a great opportunity to explore mixed media to create a collection of many low risk artworks and really refine your style and find your artistic voice.

Learn to Paint and Draw (Better): Faces as 3D objects
Join Earthchild Sarah every week as she teaches the basics of painting and drawing.
In January and February we circle back to the human head. This time we approach it as a three dimensional object. We will start by drawing Loomis heads from multiple angles, focusing on just the basic structure and placements. Next we will tackle all the features individually, exploring each from multiple angles. We will put it all together by adding detail to a few of our heads for practice. Finally, students will have their choice of medium to create an artwork focusing on one of the features, or a portrait.
