In partnership with the Dali Museum's current exhibition Where Ideas Come From: Drawings from The DalĂ Museum Collection, join us for the first of five partner programs exploring surrealist themes and Dali's life and work. In this workshop, we will explore an experimental painting technique: decalcomania. Explored by many of the surrealist artists of the early 20th century, decalcomania is a technique that occurs when paint is pressed between two sheets of paper to reveal a unique, abstract image. Participants will learn more about decalcomania and create their own pieces inspired by this surrealist technique.
