Our Makerspace and Adult Services rely heavily on volunteers. In 2023, 533 of 669 programs were led by volunteers- about 80%! Volunteers teach woodworking, fabric arts, photography, writing, etc. They help with shelving, selling books to support programs, and providing tech help appointments. For National Volunteer Appreciation Week we are meeting with our adult volunteers to celebrate their thousands of hours of service to the library community. Each has been asked to bring an item to represent their work at the LOL Library. Come see the range of talents shared by our amazing volunteers. 

This activity is intended for ages 18 years and older (or youth age 9 years and older with an accompanying guardian). Open Build is an opportunity to use our tools to work on your approved project. Volunteers or staff will be on hand to assist. Bring your own plans and materials.

This month we will be discussing True Biz by Sara Novic. Copies of the book will be available for pickup at the Land O'Lakes Library. The book is also available as an eBook on Libby.

Stories, songs, dance and so much more!  

Instructor is unable to teach the class on this date. The last class for the series will be Saturday (4/20).
Join our volunteer, Yaneth, for an Introduction to the Spanish language class. Plan to attend all four of the classes in the session. No prior knowledge of the language is needed. This class is for adults who are beginners. All materials will be provided. 

Join us for our first plant swap. Bring your plants and seeds (vegetables, houseplants, etc.) that you want to share. Take home a new plant to complete your garden. This event is free and open to anyone in our community. 

This program is for youth ages 9-15 years old. Participants will create a project with hand tools. All materials will be provided. This month's project is TBD. Please sign up the participant with their library card number.

Join us every other Saturday for Dungeons and Dragons! Basic knowledge and some experience needed. The campaign will last 8 sessions. 

Join us every other Saturday for Introduction to Dungeons and Dragons! It will be a campaign for beginners where you will learn how to create a character and the basics of how to be a part of a campaign. The campaign will last 4 sessions. 

This program is intended for adults and teens who have previous handwork experience. This is a time to bring your own project and meet with others who enjoy handwork: crocheting, knitting, counted cross stitch, hand sewing, paper arts, etc. Our volunteer, Margarita, will be available to assist with crochet projects. Registration is not required.

Join our toymaker, Chip, to learn to make wooden toys and projects on the scroll saw. This event is for ages 16 years and older. All materials will be provided. This month's project is a kangaroo. 

Join our volunteers for chess. This recreational club is open to all ages and abilities. Are you interested in learning how to play? Our volunteers can teach you. Already know how but need someone to play against? Join us on Tuesday evenings in the Adult Multipurpose Room C anytime from 4:00-7:30 PM. Chess sets are provided or you are welcome to bring your own.
